THE LOADING DOCKS @ 111 8TH AVE

This project was a signage overhaul for the loading docks at 111 8th Ave. Our primary goal was to consolidate all of the existing signage into a functional, clear and cohesive system throughout multiple docks. Through the use of large text and bold colors we were able to refine and enhance an often overlooked area of a building.

CRAFTING A COLOR PALETTE

Part of our process included the selection of colors that would stand out in a commonly cluttered space in order to avoid confusion. The loading docks are often used by outside vendors that are not regulars and clear signs are vital to maintain efficiency.

We assigned two distinct colors for each of the docks to aid in distinction; internally, and in a more casual matter, the staff are able to refer to the docks as “the red dock” or “the blue dock.”
