THE ILLUMINATED NICHES + WORKSPACE

While at GHD Partners our team was tasked with expanding an existing graphics and wayfinding system at Google’s offices in Chelsea Market. Due to the unique and historic nature of Chelsea Market there were a few spatially constrained areas that we were challenged to activate. Here we designed engaging spaces through the installation of interactive art exhibits.

THE ILLUMINATED NICHES

Our goal was to create an experience that could transport you into an exciting new reality while seamlessly integrating into the theme of the floor. As you open the different marked frames, the inside will illuminate showing neon views of iconic pop culture moments of New York City.

THE WORKSPACE

Another challenging task from this space was making sure the users are able to find their way around the convoluted floor plan. The expanded graphics system was a combination of large scale signage that seamlessly integrates with the architecture and uses subtle additions of elements found at home such as frames and shelves.
